Memories of the Mattole River and our little cabin.
"Your "Lost Coast Body Oil" totally grabbed my attention and I really am enjoying the smell and feel on my skin. My mothers parents bought a little summer cabin on the Mattole River (heart of the Lost Coast) in the mid-50's, and my first trip there was before my first birthday in the summer of 1957. I was told later that we have some great grandparents in the Pioneer Cemetery just west of the Petrolia store, so my roots do run deep there. I spent many a summer day in my youth fishing and swimming in the pools in the river, eating way to many blackberries, and adventuring out on the coast and up in the hills, so I will always be deeply connected to that place. The smells that really bring back so many warm memories for me are the Pennyroyal in the meadow, the moss covered Bay trees all around and the Douglas Fir campfire smoke every evening to roast marshmallows. The new "Lost Coast" oil is wonderful and I do enjoy it, but it would be truly amazing to create just the Pennyroyal and Bay as an oil, incense or candle, if possible?!
